“Up to 150 thousand lorry drivers might lose their jobs due to a new EU directive,” warns the Transport and Logistics Poland Employers’ Association. What we mean here is the influence of the EU Posted Workers Directive on the everyday functioning of the transport sector in the European Union. It places an obligation on transport companies to pay salaries to their drivers in line with different principles in force in every country they drive through. “Europe is too small to be divided. In order to facilitate the protection of jobs, an improvement in work quality, and investments aimed at increasing the number of employees and the infrastructure intended for them, we need to eliminate the unnecessary bureaucracy and preserve the integrated uniform market,” we read in the report which the transportation workers are planning to present to all the Members of the European Parliament.
